Secondary Prevention in Cardiology: Beyond the Everyday

This event will feature a mixture of invited speakers, clinical and research topics, and plenty of networking opportunities. The Symposium will provide a space to explore what’s new and innovative in cardiovascular secondary prevention; showcase fresh approaches to cardiac rehabilitation; share inspiring patient experiences in cardiovascular care; and reveal the latest initiatives to advance of Cardiac Rehabilitation in Queensland.

We have tailored the program to cover a range of topics which are “beyond the everyday” bread and butter of practice and will interest a broad cross-section of attendees. Planned topics include:

  • Overcoming complications of surgery encountered in Cardiac Rehabilitation
  • Effect of exercise therapy in CVD Surgical Patients
  • A mobile app to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait people attend Cardiac Rehabilitation
  • Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection treatment options and Cardiac Rehabilitation
  • Positive Cardiac Rehabilitation outcomes in Pulmonary Hypertension
  • Updates from the Heart Foundation and Statewide Cardiac Clinical Network
  • An opportunity to submit your work for presentation as a poster throughout the symposium
  • Morning tea, lunch breaks, afternoon tea and social event at the symposium close to enable networking with colleagues old and new

Come join us for what will be a fantastic opportunity to shine a spotlight on the great work being done in Queensland. As in previous years we will also be offering the symposium via video-conference link (limited places) for those from outside the Brisbane  area who cannot attend in person.
