Destination Gold Coast

A sun-kissed city by the sea, the Gold Coast is a place defined by an unmistakable energy. With 57 kilometres of sand and surf, 100,000 hectares of World Heritage listed rainforests, awards winning dining, active adventure and an evolving events calendar, the Gold Coast is the perfect destination for ACRA 2022 and a pre or post conference break.

Despite it being winter, daytime temperatures on the Gold Coast during August usually reach a beautiful 21°C. Typically, the weather in August is clear and warm during the day and slightly cooler during the nights. There is very little chance of rain, which means it’s the perfect time to get out and explore the best of the Gold Coast. Minimum temperatures generally tend to hover around 13°C, so carrying warm clothing would be advisable at night.

The Gold Coast is serviced by two major airports. Gold Coast Airport is conveniently located 30 minutes from the city centre and offers extensive domestic and international services. Direct flights to and from all Australian capital cities and regional areas, plus the majority of metropolitan centres across the globe are readily available. The airport operates from 4.30am each day with an average of more than 420 direct flights per week.

Brisbane Domestic and International Airport is less than one hour’s drive north from the city centre via the M1. Brisbane International Airport is open 24 hours a day and currently has more than 3,500 direct international flights per week to and from major destinations.

Airtrain transports passengers to and from the Brisbane Domestic and International Airport to four Gold Coast stations: Helensvale, Nerang, Robina and Varsity Lakes. Airtrains run every 15 minutes during peak periods.

Con-X-ion provide the most frequent and direct shuttle transfer service to and from Gold Coast and Brisbane Airports to accommodation houses or local residences.

Limousine transfers are also available.
