DESCRIPTION:2021 Cardiac Rehabilitation and Secondary Prevention Symposium \nBe inspired and learn from each other at the Australian Cardiovascular Health and Rehabilitation Association—Queensland (ACRA-Qld) upcoming Cardiac Rehabilitation and Secondary Prevention half-day symposium\, “Better Together”\, to be held at the Queensland University of Technology\, Kelvin Grove\, on Friday November 5th. \nThis hybrid in-person and online educational event will feature a mixture of invited speakers\, clinical and research topics\, and networking opportunities. The Symposium will provide a space to showcase local approaches to cardiac rehabilitation; share inspiring patient experiences in cardiovascular care; and reveal the latest research and initiatives to advance of Cardiac Rehabilitation in Queensland. \nWe have tailored the program to cover a range of topics from which we can learn from each other to be “better together” and which will interest a broad cross-section of attendees. These include: \n\nCVD medication update\, challenges and considerations for cardiac rehab\nHow do we better engage with GPs to manage chronic disease?\nMotivational Interviewing for behaviour change\nSupporting your patient’s mental health\nHeart Foundation update\nMeet the researcher showcase\nPatient speaker\n\nCome join us for what will be a fantastic opportunity to shine a spotlight on the great work being done in Queensland and finally catch up face to face again. Morning tea and lunch breaks are included for in person attendees and will enable networking with colleagues old and new. An option to attend all sessions virtually via Zoom is also available for delegates. \nDiscounts available for ACRA members on all ticket types. Special Offer: Join ACRA as part of registering for this event and get the regular $40 joining fee waived. \nThere is also an option to join an informal post event catch-up networking drinks nearby. \nCPD Points: This educational event represents 3 hours of training in Continuing Professional Development under the Australian health practitioners regulation agency guidelines.
