Advocacy Toolkits

What is Advocacy?

Advocacy can be described as public support for a particular cause or policy. It is about being active in promoting that cause – whether by telling a story, lobbying decision makers or encouraging others.

Additionally, as a health professional you are in an influential position to steer system change, improve services and allow patient stories to be heard. An advocacy toolkit can provide guidance to help you advocate for improved services within your health service and community.

We provide links to two such advocacy toolkits below.

The Heart Foundation

An advocacy toolkit for health professionals to improve cardiac rehabilitation and heart failure services

International Council of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (ICCPR)
